I have been working with children for 20 years and I enjoy seeing the development of little minds, their curiosity, and their ability to imagine things, and to watch the creative process bloom and grow.  Children are so very rewarding to me as children come to us as a gift from our Creator God.

I have been a co-administrator for Sunday School at St. Peters Lutheran Church, along with being a kindergarten teacher’s assistant at St. Peters School.  I currently work in the 4 year old preschool classroom as a teachers assistant.

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and sharing my love of outdoors and nature.  I love to travel and experience new people, places, and soaking in the culture.  I also enjoy reading, music, and studying God’s word.

Paula Woomer
GSRP 4 Year Old Teacher

I enjoy working with children because their perspective of the world is always fresh, new and positive.  I love working with and teaching the GSRP 4 years old class.

Hillary Carico
GSRP Associate Teacher

I have enjoyed working with children for the past 15 years.  I started my career by volunteering at my church child care program every week.  I then started babysitting and became a private nanny in the summer months.  Knowing that child care and preschool is what I wanted to focus on, I became an assistant teacher at a licensed day care while attending college.  After graduating with an Early Childhood Education Degree, I was offered a lead teacher position in a GSRP Early Childhood Program.

I truly love and feel blessed by being a part of each child’s learning experience.  There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student grasp a concept that had caused them to struggle.  We each have different learning sets, and I enjoy a challenge of finding ways to make learning fun for each student.

I graduated Cum Laude, with an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.   I was on the Presidents Honor List and awarded the Certificate of Academic Achievement.  I was also invited for membership in Phi Theta Kappa Chapter.

I love spending time with friends and family, as well as with my two dogs Spencer and Shorty.  I enjoy many hobbies, and love relaxing with a cup of coffee while reading a good book.  I also volunteer at my church and help with the Awana and Upwords Basketball programs.

Traditional Preschool
      Assistant Teacher

I have been working with children for 30 plus years and ran my own home daycare for 26 years.  I love being around children.  I love seeing the faces of children when we teach them something new and they can actually participate in what is being taught.  I love reading to children and playing games with them.  I especially love teaching young children new songs.

I attend Early Childhood Conferences whenever I can and I keep current in CPR/First Aid.  I have been married to my husband, Tom for 40 years and we have two wonderful children.  Tom and I have lived in Richmond all of our lives, loving this small city.  We are members of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Richmond.  I have two grandchildren, which keeps me very busy in my spare time.

After running my own home day care, I received a position as an aid for the preschool at Seasons of Learning, where I am currently working with the toddler’s in their program.  I love making baby quilts, reading, and working on puzzle books in my extra spare time.
